PM Modi government plans on increasing exports; Incentives for manufacturers to be considered

The Narendra Modi government is planning to increase exports on ready to eat foods sector in order to make this a $2 billion industry. 

The govt is looking at increased exports to east Asia countries like Singapore Thailand. The Modi government aims at a massive drive to popularise Indian food. 
It is also considering certain incentives for manufacturers. Industry bodies in meeting with govt and food ministry have also suggested simplifying shipment norms and doing away with spice board testing and certification norms. 

Sources hint that Govt may not consider the industry’s proposal of GST cut from 12% to 5%
