The training module “Green Inclusive Finance and Digital” is part of the training series developed by the e-MFP Green Inclusive and Climate Smart Finance Action Group and supported by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Digital solutions can help advance green inclusive finance by improving access to information, reducing transaction costs, increasing transparency and accountability, and enhancing outreach and education.

Climate change is already and will continue to increase the number and intensity of extreme weather events, affecting crop yields, as well as causing volatility and losses in revenues and assets, in particular for the most vulnerable populations. Biodiversity loss threatens food security, and the use of wood or other biomass for cooking and heating results in poor air quality which is linked to millions of premature deaths each year.

Financial service providers can support poor households, smallholders, micro and small enteprises to build resilience against climate change and biodiversity loss, and implement sustainable activities and practices with higher and more stable revenues.

This can be achieved through engaging in Green Inclusive Finance which is a set of environmental strategies, processes and risk management to develop and offer green financial and non-financial products to support clients to cope with environmental degradation and increase sustainable development.
