My grandpa said this type of music inspired the bar he opened in the 80s “Tokyo Delves” in Los Angeles when he first immigrated here from Japan - pretty dope people still listen to it

Things really have changed.

These songs make you nostalgic for things that you did not even experience.

You can clearly visualize those old anime while listening to these songs.

They just have a certain "feel" that you can't find in today's songs.

"Oh No, Oh Yes" lives rent free in my head. I start humming it at random.

City Pop embodies the essence of relishing the present moment without the weight of tomorrow's concerns. To everyone tuning in, here's to wishing you a tranquil and serene evening. May it be filled with peace and contentment. 🖤

When I do my housework, it's ready. It plays in the background and makes things happier, everything is better with good tracks like these.

Listening to these songs over the last few months...and now that I'm finally in Japan for the first time, listening to "Stay with me" while I look out my hotel window onto the Tokyo skyline...just hits different. ❤

My son is 1 year old and I usually put my son to sleep listening to this, and he sleeps like an angel. I'm getting him used to hearing and feeling what his father felt in those golden times of the 80s'. We are Brazilians 🙃😃

Literally takes you back to a time when everything was going great.

I went to a seminar that talked about city pop, j pop, viet pop, canto pop, and American pop. They talked about how around the time city pop was in its rising stage it was the same time Japan had a boom in economy and creativity :)
