Russian President Vladimir Putin says, Ukraine ‘started’ infrastructure attacks, vowing to continue hitting Ukraine's power grid.
The remarks come despite millions in Ukraine already being left without electricity or water.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday claimed that Ukrainian forces were the “first” to target civilian infrastructure, while defending Russia's ongoing attacks on energy facilities.
"Right now, there has been a lot of uproar about our attacks on the energy infrastructure of the neighboring country. Yes, we're doing it. But who started it? Who hit the Crimean Bridge? Who blew up the power lines from the Kursk nuclear power plant? Who isn't supplying water to Donetsk?"
Putin made the remarks during a state awards ceremony, where the Russian president vowed to continue attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure despite millions already being left without electricity or water.
He added that criticism of Russian strikes would "not interfere" with its combat mission, hinting at more attacks in the future.
Russia has been attacking Ukraine's power grids since October, following a string of heavy military defeats.
Some Western leaders have called the strategy a war crime, due to the huge amount of damage caused to civilian infrastructure.
Ukraine is now seeing snow and sub-zero temperatures in many regions, and millions are without electricity and running water, raising fears people may die of hypothermia.
Experts say Russia's strategy of hitting energy infrastructure is most likely designed to demoralize and terrorize the population, rather than gain any concrete military advantage, a move that violates international law.
