This was filmed right near my house. We weren't at the carnival that night, but drove past and saw them filming but we didnt know what. I wish we had stopped to watch it. I loved that ride. Lol

It was a carnival that would move around city to city in our state for city festivals.

FUN FACT: The chewing tobacco was actually a mixture consisting of both beef jerky and black licorice. And Patrick Renna (Ham) said in an interview that the vomiting was very fitting for him because he hated licorice in real life. And the vomit was actually vegetable soup.

They never show Benny being sick because he's the alpha. He probably handled it like a boss but they don't want to promote it being cool.

My sister in law's dad builds movie sets. He built a lot of the stuff for the carnival scene in the sandlot. After shooting, they were going to just toss all of it. It was shot in utah, so there isn't a big reason to keep it. Not like v they have giant warehouses that store this kind of stuff and it gets used again here and there. So anyway, he took some of it home and still has it. He has a ticket booth that says "city of fun" on the front and two carnival game booths. The city of fun booth is signed on the inside by several of the kids from the movie. He also has a couple things from the stand by Steven King. The miniseries. It was also filmed partially in utah. I was blown away when I went in his backyard and saw some props from my childhood baking in the summer sun. But the very coolest thing he has is one of the bases from the baseball diamond they played on. That blew me away.
