Why I Chose the Razer Blade Stealth 2019 Gaming Ultrabook

After building a custom PC, I needed a second device to do light editing and gaming on the go. I compared the Macbook Pro, Dell XPS 13, Dell XPS 15, Huawei Matebook X Pro, and Lenovo X1 Carbon and finally ended up picking up the Razer Blade Stealth Early 2019.

The Razer Blade Stealth is a great thin and light laptop to support a creative workflow.

I'm currently a student and planning on getting a small and thin laptop for homework, word processing, coding, etc. My options are
1. Razer Stealth Base Model (early 2019) $1100
2. Surface Laptop 3 $1169 w/ student discount
I was considering the Razer until I read bad reviews about the coil whine and battery discharge. Do you still recommend the base model Razer laptop or should I go for the upcoming surface 3?

Just bought one for £500 to use as a crash and bash system I can take with me for basic web development, photo editing and browsing to take the load off my blade 15 advanced 3080. ☺️ 2 years, saved £1000. Happy with that!

I can get the mercury one $240 CAD off but the taxes are $200 😭😭😭😭. Did you buy yours on the razer site? I im hearing that I should get it from a reseller but I lose that discount so I kinda have to buy it on the website.

Hey Andy, thanks for the great video. I was really leaning toward the XPS 13 (over the Surface or Thinkpad), but the lack of ports really bothers me. They have made the darn thing so thin now that a USB cannot fit - so it's all type C now. If I compare apples to apples, the price difference is not that bad - you keep saying the price is the down side, but for the new 10th Gen i7 chip with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB RAM, the computers are all around $1800 CAD (1400 USD). The Macbook and Surface are much more. I feel like the Razer is only a hundred bucks more than the XPS, but with the advantages of the USB ports and the GTX 1650.

Am I wrong? I feel like the price is not that bad...I mean....it's a lot, but it seems to be not that much more than the price they are all charging.
What do you think? Should I buy the new Razer??

Pretty good review Andy. But you didn't mention about the battery life you are getting from it.

Can you please compare the amount of battery life you got when you bought it with now? Any degradation of battery life in your 6 months of use?

I am thinking of buying this early 2019 razer blade stealth laptop. My main concern is about battery life. I was thinking of buying dell xps 15 7590, but then found this and your video and thinking of buying this one. What do you recommend? As you used both, can you please mention which has better trackpad, display (FHD), keyboard?

What do you think to the Razer Blade Stealth 13 in Mercury White? I am thinking about refreshing my MacBook Pro (2014 model) not really a gamer but performance, portability and longevity are my key points for maybe switching from Apple tax.

You should have waited for the new Stealth 13. It comes with Intel 10th gen Ice Lake processors and a GTX 1650.

Hi there. I'm currently using the late 2017 (?) Razer Blade Stealth and I'm due for an upgrade. My concern now is if I should upgrade to the early 2019 MX150 model or the newest GTX1650. I don't know how much of an upgrade the MX150 is to my integrated intel graphics, and I'm really looking to get better/smoother performance for casual gaming as well as quicker photo editing. What would you suggest?

I'm able to get this exact model RB Stealth for $1100 and am torn between this and an XPS 13, 4k touchscreen with 16gb memory and 256gb ssd for $1279. It's an interesting place to be considering how the biggest con against Razer is the price except in this situation the Razer is the cheaper option.. the XPS 13 is also universally praised as the best in it's class for the price but is the more expensive option for me. The 4k touchscreen isn't really important to me and prefer a 1080p screen anyways. I'm not a hardcore gamer either.. just minecraft with my girlfriend or occasionally indie games. All AAA games I play on console. What do you think is the better option?

There is a touch screen option actually. The issue is that it forces you to also pick a 4K panel which just eats through battery life for no reason on such a small screen.
