When I first heard the last song of Dean Lewis “how do i”, it was on tik tok and i just felt this song, it was exactly the way i felt about my dad, when everyone says it’s gonna hurt less with time because let’s be honest, it’s not. I miss him every single day, there isn’t a day where I don't think about him..

I was really waiting for the full song to be out and it’s just perfect, every lyric is perfect and that’s why I decided to do this little video about it. I cried during it of course because some scenes are so real to me but I'm proud of the result. I hope you will love it, and if you lose your dad like me, this song is also dedicated to you.

i went to his concert before he had released this and Dean just said I am going to sing a new song if that is alright ... as someone who recently lost both of her parents needless to say I was not prepared for him to start singing this.

So happy you found it and made a video - i honestly dont know if I could get through making a video to it.

This is perfect and really hit home. Two days from now is my dad's death anniversary. All the situations from getting the news to grieving, all the emotions, I recognize all of them. I'm sorry you had to go through it as well.

What a perfect video, wow. I know and love so many of these fandoms and i guess I've always loved a good grief tribute, especially ever since ~9 years ago when I first experienced the death of someone close to me. There aren't that many that people make that are this unique and well done. You're so talented and thank you for introducing me to this song too. 💙 I'm so so sorry for your loss and pain. Some people say it doesn't ever go away, other people say it lessens with time, and some people say the pain stays the same but you get used to it or you grow kinda "larger" around it while it stays the same "size" so in practice even if it doesn't lessen, it still gets easier. It may take what feels like FOREVER for you to notice it ever getting easier, but most people do find a way to integrate their grief eventually, and for it to not be so raw, for it to feel nice and feel more like love and nostalgia and less like reopening a wound every time you think abbot him. I'm so sorry it's so hard in the stage you're at right now though. 💙💙

I am so grateful for my dad and hope i don't lose him for many, many years. It's hard to fully imagine how devastated I'll be when he one day dies, even though I've dedicated my career now to helping grieving individuals (I'm a funeral celebrant and memorial slideshow editor) and have thought so much about death and loss and grief. I know it'll be the hardest thing ever for me. I'm very close with my dad as well. 💛
