A VINTAGE DRIVE to the GOSHAWK PUB car meet in Mouldsworth

In today's video, a friend and I head out to the Goshawk Pub in Mouldsworth, me navigating the squiggly yellow back lanes of Cheshire while he concentrated on driving his 1928 Star tourer, a vintage car originally built in Wolverhampton.
Our destination, the Goshawk pub, regularly holds a vintage and classic car meet that neither of us had been to before. So as the weather was perfect for a vintage drive out, I didn't need much persuading.
Many of the attending cars I'd never seen before, highlights being a very original Austin Mini Mk1, an amazingly original 1920s Austin (plus a Morris from the same decade), a selection of VW Beetles, Vauxhall Chevette HSR, factory-built Mini convertible, Rover P6 estate, and a swoopy Datsun 240Z to name a few. All in all, a very pleasant evening classic car meet, and one I'd hope to get back to sometime. The last time I had visited Mouldsworth was around 30 years earlier when volunteering at the now-closed Mouldsworth Motor Museum.
Let me know in the comments what you thought of this meeting? Perhaps you went too?
Don't forget to have a look around at the rest of the Old Classic Car channel for more classic car meetings just like this, plus classic car shows and much more.
If you know of anyone else who might find these Old Classic Car videos of interest, please forward one of the above links to them.

Another great video. I also love looking at the old buildings in the background on all your videos as we don't have that depth of history here in Australia. By the way, the strange looking two door American car is a Ford Customline of around 1956 vintage. These, in four door form, were common in Australia and even used by some police forces for chase cars.

I like your conveyance to this gathering. Nice looking car. File under minutiae: The US had a Star marque as well in the early 1920's built by Durant. It sold in the UK under the Rugby brand to avoid confusion with the UK Star.

Excellent video of what could best be described as an eclectic extravanganza! Loved the old girls - Albion, Austin, Star and Bullnose Morris. Bingo - ever since I started watching the OCC channel I have been eagerly looking out for a Lotus Carlton at the meets! A real bad boy and nothing else quite like it in the day.

A great show, yes the Austin 12 heavy was a stunner. The Star was pretty good too, love to see more information on the Star.

I have to mention the Austin 12 Heavy, spot on. The old Morris was great too. The old Albion was so well restored and that horn! Some really nice VW Beetles through the ages, not sure about the 'rat rod' version but each to his own. The other 'hot rod' had a reference to the 'rat rod' scene but a much more pleasing car in my opinion. The Blue !955 Ford looked to me like a 'gasser' (American term), quite interesting though. I loved all the old BSA's as my Dad had a number of them in his youth and of course me coming from 'Westbrom' I have to support such motorbikes. I don't mind those old scooters either, the trick was to install as many lights and mirrors as you could and you didn't need to have all the lights working! I almost forgot to mention the lovely example of the Datsun 240Z the 'Z's' were great in their time and still hold their own today. Great video Rick and the ride back in the Star was a nice ending and she goes along quite well too. 👍👍

The star of the show (no pun intended) is the Star and the Albion. Never even heard of these vehicles! The Star seems to drive at a nice clip too. 🎉. Another great video! 😊

A perfect evening for a very interesting meet with a lorra lorra Escorts. and a great, mixed variety of cars etc. The 240Z is awesome and I would take that home tomorrow. My late father had a BSA Bantam in the 60's which my brothers and I used to get to clean and I have none to fond memories of wire wool cleaning the wheels which I hated to do.The Star driving sequence is wonderful and it seems to motor along very nicely. First class video. I always find your choice of soundtrack music very apt in each of your uploads.

I liked the dogs there. The young lady on the Fergie was also a good attraction. That event was way overpacked in my opinion. Can't imagine what the Ferrari owner next to the mopeds was going through.

Another cracking vid, that Caterham type car at 48.01 was an MK kit car based on Mazda MX5 running gear. It seem like a good way to recycle a terminally rusty MX5..a nice mix of vehicles at this meet, some real beauties, well done.

Hey dude! The blue American car at 26 mins is mine,
It's a 1955 ford customline done in the style of a gasser,
She's daily driven and 5 speed manual

This is the 1st video from your channel I have watched in about 3 months. I have learned a lot about European/UK autos from watching this channel and also enjoy the people and venues where these meets are held, thank you for spending time to upload. I must admit though that this meet seems somehow haphazard in size or convince for those trying to enter and leave it seems?

I had a 1988 1/2 Ford Escort LX. One of my favorite vehicles, with 5 speed manual transmission.
