If Assassins Creed Valhalla taught me anything, it’s that “more” doesn’t necessarily mean “better”…

I just now finished the game. I couldn't agree more with you, the has one of the most interesting world's ever created. It's true that the game could have been improved A LOT!! But dam it, as someone who loves interesting lore in games, I wish I could learn more about the creation of the order, the rise of the lyncans and much more. I really wish we see a sequel

The world they created here is ripe for such an awesome story line. I really hope they revisit it down the road

The world of "The Order" would shine if it gets a sequel. I really hope that we get another one in the future because I loved the first one!

I didn’t play this at launch because everyone said it was super short and not worth the money. I didn’t play it until two years later and I was seriously so disappointed that I hadn’t played it at launch. I absolutely loved it.

This is one of the most graphically beautiful games ever made.

No issue with the length for me. I enjoyed it thoroughly. My main problem is that the story ended on a terrible cliffhanger. It just didn't feel like the story was over.

I feel like RAD is still getting the short end of the stick. They just released Lone Echo 2, which is the culmination of the cinematic approach taken with with The Order 1886 except being in VR and actually living a sci-fi movie is a lot more engaging than watching a movie interspersed with little snippets of a mediocre third person shooter. And Lone Echo 2 is amazing, one of the few VR games worth mentioning in the same breath as Half-Life: Alyx. Yet no one is talking about it at all because it's released as an Oculus exclusive in the "Rift" section when Facebook only really cares about the Quest at this point.

These people are supremely talented and they've consistently pushed the medium forward. Chains of Olympus was mind blowing at the time for a portable game. They should be experiencing the same level of success that Naughty Dog and Insomniac are.

I just played The Order 1886 yesterday. And I do go back to play my favorite chapters about once a month, I just love the game so much. The world they created is a cinematic masterpiece indeed. It is like an amazing movie that you can control. I had no problem with the shooting, I like it a lot and the takedowns are really cool. It is also incredible to see that as you showed The Order 1886 and Resident Evil 8 right after each other, The Order looks a billion times better yet it was released six years ago and RE Village is a game from 2021. It truly was a special title as far as graphics go. To me in many other ways also.

Best 5 dollars I've ever spent on a game (I can sympathize with those that paid 60 for it) - I actually love the 'movie' playthrough since I'm more a story person than a gameplay person. Love to see a sequel or a film on it (yoooo naughty dog this one's for you)

I love this game so much. I actually bought it day one for 60 dollars and never regretted it. This is still in the top 5 best looking games along with God of War 4, Uncharted 4 A Thief's End, The Last of Us Part II and Red Dead Redemption II.

The Order and RYSE remind me of one another. Both beautiful. Both misunderstood, both underrated.

I remember when I played the game years ago and I really liked it. The setting is fascinating to me and the art direction is awesome.
I remember I was excited to see a sequel, then I found out what ppl feel about the game…

I think the game delivered for what it suppose to be, an immersive, story-driven cinematic experience and I loved every second of it. I didn’t find the gameplay dull or boring because that’s not the focus of the game.

Still the game has so much potential, if the developer just learn their lesson and put a bit more effort in designing gameplay I think the game can really be something.

From what I understood, the main criticism was not that the game was short, but rather that the story didn't go anywhere or elaborate much of the world in that time. I remember seeing a Let's Play back when the game came out, and it just left me hungry for more of this world, but nothing ever came. It's like reading the first chapters of a book, it's leaving you unsatisfied.

The difference is with those other games the QTE was not the predominate means by which you "played" the game The Order 1886 wasn't build as an interactive move it was billed as a full fledged game if it was billed an interactive film from the start then I don't think people would've been so harsh on the product.

Can’t believe I was really 14 years old when I first played this game. I had a blast with it and I paid full price for it lol.

Wait, I'm confused by 6:03
Shoudn't it be 1920*822?
1422*1080 it's almost 4:3.

I heavily disagree with this Resident Evil comparison. Not only is RE8 longer by most metrics on various sites and aggregators, RE8 had also much more replay incentive, including many unlockables, mercenaries mode and more openness in its design. The gameplay might be subjective, but the above isn't, and they are in completely different genres which differentiate the two even more. Also, few years prior games like TLOU and Max Payne launched which had a lot of the same trappings as The Order and they received glowing reviews. And a year later, Uncharted and Gears 4 launched and those received great scores too. I just don't see a hidden agenda behind the negative scores The Order got, I just think the game was very mediocre.

this game's problem is that the actual game itself is incredibly shallow and not interesting to engage with.
