Some of the best detailing instruction on YouTube can always be found right here - logic, creativity, and above all, common sense. Thank you!

Excellent video! I especially appreciate the honesty about what expectations the customer has, vs the reality of what can be done to the paint to achieve a positive end result that both the customer and the detailer are satisfied with.

I like your thought process of realistic expectations vs chasing that perfection. It just makes more sense to preserve that clear coat. I have two black cars at home as well 😅

I wish every shop had this kind of work ethic. I'd bring all my vehicles in for life!

I love working on black paint, so much easier to see the progress or the change of tactics when necessary, great video as always 👍

Nice explanation and demonstration. I have a Honda Civic H.B, black. I used my DA with a wool pad and patience, I got a nice shine. So nice, my neighbors asked if I could do their cars.

By far, one of my favorite vids! I’ve done 6 cars with a Maxshine M15 Pro and now a Dewalt cordless DA and I’ve been continually let down with results (especially when I’m using the same pad/compound combos as other people and not seeing the same outcome that they got). You’ve shown me that getting that glass finish isn’t always achievable, and for that, THANK YOU. I was really starting to lose faith in myself.

I just bought a C5 that makes the evergreen one you did look perfect (from the start!) I'll drive to P.a. with the work you do.

Nice video (y) very informative. Mr. Scott Bailey said " Customers don't want perfection, they just want their cars look glossy and shiny :)

Thank you Brian for this great video..one of the hardest things I learnt was how to work with black paint. I don't think I managed to do 100% to how I would like it but I sure as hell put my heart into it. The customer was very happy but as a detailer, I felt I needed to learn some more! Thanks again. Regards from Helsinki!

Hi Brian. I would love a video on talking to potential customers with the intent to figure out their expectations.

I’ve used the same blue whook pad with the rotary on my wife white SQ5 but with the Sonax NTP cause it has very less swirls than your Audi. I put a Fuzzo coat on it after that...amazing results ! This is because of you Brian with your lessons and greats videos. Now I have to do my own darker car with more imperfections so I’m gonna use a more agressive compound.

The trunks are always the most banged up area LOL. I used M100 with a low lint wool pad on a rotary on SOFT paint and did 7 section passes still had a bunch of defects. Like you said gotta know when to stop. Don't want to blast the clear too much...
