Guy in story 1 made a questionable decision to leave the door cracked open on Halloween... or just in general really. The second story reminded me that there's a bunch of abandoned/sealed barite mines in my new england town. Never could find them when I went looking though.

The third one, walking home super late at night alone. People get it wrong in all of these stories, they've gotta be more strategic. Back in my teens and twenties I would walk around my quiet neighborhood at night with some friends, usually between 1-4am. Nothing nefarious, just smoking weed by the pond down the street, or on the porch of an abandoned house, etc. Any time there was a car coming up, we'd hide behind some bush or whatever. This game that we played came in handy a few times when cops were driving by. Sure you might look sketchy if someone catches you doing it, but I'd rather not be seen if I'm not in any sort of dire circumstance where I need help.
