I have just had this type of bridge fitted to my strat from a donor guitar. My guitar man did a great job of filling the 6 holes and drilling the two for the poles. Now my guitar is in perfect tune and no matter how much I use the trem it always goes back to the same pitch and sounds much much better. We have brian may to thank for this design as it was inspired by his knife edge system that it was redone on these styles of bridges at least that is what I've been told

hi, i would love advice. i generally don't like floating bridges, i like them flush to the body, how can i make this bridge NOT TO FLOAT? because im having a lot of trouble with my new strat :(

is the 2 point bridge can set-up a semi-higher so if i pull up may tremolo can be reach whole note higher?

The only part I haven't been fond of, is string contact point at top of the of the bent steel saddles' arc. The string can travel side from it's midpoint on the saddle during playing, especially when new and smoother. It CAN be mitigated by careful grooving of the saddle top, and CAN be a benefit if your particular Strat 'needs' that tiny string to string distance adjustment to spec out exactly, or even just to preference. Not awful or anything, but worthy of checking regularly til the saddle kind of conditions to where the string most often sits.

You've been very thorough in your explanation. I have a question though: what would you say are the advantages and disadvantages (both tonal and functional) between the two types of bridges?
Some people claim that the 2-pivot system has greater tuning stability and is smoother to use compared to the 6-point vintage-style bridge.
This, apparently, at the expense of the better sustain and supposedly 'warmer' tone of the 6-point one.
I'd love to hear your thoughts (and those of anyone who wants to chime in the debate) on this. ✌

Thanks for the explanation. I've just got a Fender FSR Tribute Stratocaster which is based on a Player series with a 2-point bridge. As I'm used to seeing 6-point bridges on high-end and vintage guitars I assumed I need to upgrade it but from watching your video I'm not so sure now. I don't expect the Player has the same model as the American Professional series 2 but I'm now hesitant about replacing it just to get something that looks more vintage, rather than for playability. I'm trying to get my own Black Strat on a budget so is there any benefit in tone to changing the tremolo / bridge components?

Hey bro, if I want to deck a trem like this, do I add the extra springs and tighten, but also screw those 2 points all the way down? Or do I need to raise the 2 points slightly to provide a little relief?

I was searching for some information on how far the two posts should be screwed down prior to installing the bridge itself. Other than the video showing you screw them in, I saw no mention for the actual depth of the posts. I would think that, in order to get the baseplate parallel to the body when doing a floating setup, the post height would be would be important information to mention. Am I overthinking this?

Trying to put something to rest that keeps coming up.. does the bass plate on these need to sit parallel to the body like on a floyd, or can you angle it slightly to have pull up like a vintage strat?

My arm is stuck. I am physically unable to remove it, yet it swings very easily. Would I have to dismantle the whole bridge to fix this ?

What are the blocks made of? All the reading I've done says the first two point ones had tone sucking zinc blocks but they've since gone to steel (YAY!). My experience is, the more machine work I see the more likely it is to be zinc.

Hi Daniel, l have a question, have you ever cut down the string height adjustment screws so they don't stick thru the barrel on a Tele type bridge.they are feeling sharp and uncomfortable and make right handed damping impossible.l want to trim them so they are in the barrel nut don't wish to make it impossible to get Alan key in.thanks for any help
