When i was in middle school in Alaska. During lunch. If you didn't want to eat. They'd let you go chill in the library. And id go get on the computer and listen to Disturbed. I did that almost every day. My foster parent wouldn't let me listen to them at home. So i would listen to them at school.

Each time someone asks me what is so great about this music I say this:
Many people go through stuff that will "cripple" them not being able to talk to anyone about it (or do not even want to open up their "inner defenses"). Songs like this reflects everything they are accumulating inside while the energy of the song allows them to ventilate the pressure and ease the pain. Just as if they were heard out by anyone without actually having to say a word. Almost like when you lose a friend in combat and then you meet others of the same fate. No words are nescessary (the reason they all know) yet you all understand each other.
That is the magic of songs like this. They help you to cope with reality on a different level.
