LYRICS:
Woo, woo,
A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
The green leaves of summer

Are calling me home "
Twas so good to be young then
In the season of plenty
When the catfish were jumping

As high as the sky
A time just for planting
A time just for ploughing
A time to be courting

A girl of your own "
Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
And to stand by your wife

At the moment of birth, woo
A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
A time just for living

A place for to die "
Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home "

Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home

어릴 때 부터 당신들의 음악을 듣고 자랐는데 나도 어느 듯 제법 나이가 들었네요. 건강하시기를 항상 바랍니다.   from Ulsan in south korea

My mother bought the LP at least 60 years ago -- maybe because we were 4 brothers, no sisters. An Afrikaans familie in Bloemfontein, South Africa. I'm 70.

I was eight in 1960. First time when I heard this song, tears came up to my eyes. I was a little thin Japanese boy. I couldn't understand the words but I surely felt very sad. I still listen to this song.

I have been young and now am old. This song and other reflective ballads bring floods of bittersweet memories, emotions, thoughts. How strange this life the great creator has endowed us with. For the fullest meaning of existence come to him, read his book the Bible and follow the instructions to bow before the son he sent. Life is meant to be lived toward him.

As someone who just turned the age of 70, well, I can relate in such a meaningful way to this song. The Brothers Four were a fantastic group of very talented musicians and performers. God bless them and God bless us all.

I had my newborn child 3 days ago, a lovely lil girl. I've been singing her this song whenever she needs to be calmed 🥰🥰🥰 She did calmed down though.
