Back in high school, a kid could elect to go to technical school.

There you'd learn trade skills like welding or automotive repair and

so on. I chose electronics which was a 2 year elective, so I didn't

start going until 11th grade, or junior year. The school was located

in a different part of the city so they had to bus us there. If you were

fortunate and had a friend with a car, you could skip the bus ride,

as long as you arrived on time. This one kid, Rick, would always

drive, so we'd all pile into his Dodge and ride there with him. He

had an 8 track player and one of his tapes was "Steppenwolf's

Greatest Hits". He'd crank that sucker and blast it through his 4

inch door speakers and the 6 by 9s in the rear deck. It sounded

brash and distorted but we didn't care. IT WAS STEPPENWOLF!!
Thanks for the memory jar.. made my day!

Great retro ride, one of my favourite cars of all time... Great job on the paint and the lowering makes it very unique. 🤙

Your car turned out beautifully Lee. It was a true honor and privilege to build with you my friend. I believe I’m the one whose ass was kicked 😂. I owe you a dinner - get back out here to Calif and I’m thinking Santa Maria style bbq tri-tip, beans, French bread...in Santa Maria itself 😊. Thanks again Lee!

Awesome Chevelle there Lee, love the details you worked into it! Those wheels and the stance are much better than the original and i love that blue. Good call on not clear coating it, looks great just as it is.

Thanks for sharing, stay safe and keep on keeping on!!

The hood looks great, I've done a couple few of these Chevelles and always spent a decent amount of time making the hood look right ! Well done !

The Chevelle looks fantastic Lee. When you've got a beautiful, classic shape like that and the paint looks as good as *any* of the real cars, you don't need decals, or even stripes. 👍Something about that paint, kinda hard to explain, but it looks like the paint on a real Chevy - maybe it's the metalflake?
Another superb photo to finish with too.👌 The foliage makes a lovely frame for the water and adds some colour too. I see what you mean about the rootbeer.😁 Looks like great water for making whisky. When Scottish water turns that colour, it's usually caused by peat, which makes for excellent whisky. The malts from the Isle of Islay are renowned for this; gives them a smokey, peaty, almost dirty flavour. mmmm🥃
Cheers for now,
Dougie.
