Salesforce Lightning: Field History Tracking

For Salesforce Lightning, in addition to Feed Tracking using Chatter, this shows how to enable Changes for Accounts (or any Object's history) using the Object Manager. Then, it walks through adding the Account History Related List on the Page Layout to allow you to see the history records. By navigating to the standard Account History Report, for pre-selected fields, we can see (using date and field filters) the field values that have changed within the last 18 months.

When I set Field history tracking, there is a description checkbox but I cannot find documentation for what that description checkbox covers???? anyone :)
