Quick demo of the Yamaha RX21 drum machine, the RX11 & RX15's cheaper cousin, has a great kick, and can be picked up for very cheap. They're definitely a blast.

I had one of these many years ago. Horrible machine, but damn if I don’t miss the thing! LOL! 😂

Am looking at one of these Cheese Factories for $40CDN (that's about 29¢ USD...🤨). Thanks to your helpful Demo, I now know what I'm in for. And for what it's being sold for, I'm in! I miss my TR-909 ever since a "friend" stole it 3½ decades ago. It still hurts!😠
I'm pleasantly surprised at how much the RX-21 can sound like the TR-909, but it's hardly a substitute. The handclaps SUCK by comparison, & the high hats sound spitty & lifeless too.🪦 Could be YouBoob's 💩y sampling rate, not to mention that of whatever cheap digital device & nasty speaker this was recorded with. Playing it all back through my DUMBphone doesn't help either. Low-bit digital on top of low-bit digit on top of low-bit digital...🤮!
But I always HATED Yahaha's "twee" & treble-ey "House Sound", from their home stereo equipment to their acoustic musical instruments...even the engines in their motorcycles & snowmobiles have that same "insubstantial" sound to them!😳
And I remember how AWFUL the DX-7 synth sounded, it was the first one you could actually afford at the time, so every musician in the world all dumped their Analog Roland & Oberheim keys in favour of this obnoxious & irritating-sounding piece of MUSIC DEATH.🙄
Not me!
And notice when you hear an 80's song with the DX-7 in it, how badly its sound has aged?🧟🙉🙉🙉🤦 How it just JUMPS OUT of any mix with its shrill & piercing noises, even when its supposed to be deep down into it?
How it even completely ruins those songs, many of which are otherwise great?
But Drum Machines are another story, which I guess explains the success of the series of cheap Korg toys that look to be tons'o'fun!
Everything old enough is new again... except the DX-7 😝 & the Fairlight 😵‍💫😑🥱.
Drum machines were used to death in the 90's, so we got sick of them soon enough. But since today's (C)Rap Music is nothing more than somebody talking trash through Auto-Tune with some pathetic little 3 or 4 note synth tune playing the melody, the Drum Machines (or, OK, the sampled sounds of them🙄🤦) are back in fashion & in force again!
Noise F***ots of the world, Unite!🤪
