In this video, I share the study plan I've developed to pass more than 30 IT certification exams.

Sorry in advanced for how small my face is during the slides.... If I were doing this again, I would have filmed/edited much differently.

Failed the core1 A+ by 50 points. I will be taking it again before January. I plan to get me a tablet to read materials digitally that A+ book is hefty to lug around.

I followed this and passed the AWS Certified Advanced Networking exam in 4 weeks! I am a network and security veteran, do not attempt this if you have no experience.

Absolutely spot on advice. The 'skin in the game' and Udemy call outs are outstanding.

This is great. I like to read a digital book for the material as well, that way I have heard, read, and written the important stuff. Just like watching the videos on 2x speed, I'll skip book topics that I remember from the videos. Keep the content coming man, I think it will be a huge help to people figuring out their system and getting their first certs!

Haha, this is basically how I passed my current two CompTIA exams. A+, N+

1. Take practice test to get baseline of knowledge
2. Binge video series
3. Small break of a couple days then Take another practice test to gauge improvements from baseline
4. Review weakest subjects and focus my study/review on my weakest subjects. Skip subjects/terms I already understand for optimal efficiency (review takes about 1 week)
5. Take another practice test and reassess scores.

Rinse and repeat until consistently can score a satisfying average practice test score (if the average is going up after every new test you're on the right path). Take exam within that week and do final reviews.

That was really good, I think I approached my current exam (next week) wrong, especially not taking notes. Appreciate this video!

Love all of these tips. The only modification I’d say is with the practice tests, don’t pay attention to the actual percentage (at least towards the exam date). Instead pay attention to the questions themselves and ask yourself on each question “Do I not just know why the right answer is right but do I know why each of the wrong answers is wrong?” Helps you study, guarantees you’re locking in the knowledge and allows you to avoid just memorizing practice test questions.

Overall lots of great advice. I will note that studies have shown that people remember better if hand write (paper/digital) vs. typing and that's been my experience as well.

Bly me I read the azure fundamental in 1 day while sunbathing in my backyard this weekend and I did half of the exam questions in 1 night. I hope to book it this week . I saw 16 h video in 2 days! You are my kind of guy. 😊

Thanks for the video, I'm currently pulling my eyelashes out trying to get through multilayer switching/VLANs + all their commands for my CCNA. It's so dull. Then I realised I have so much more other stuff I need to get through (learning python+linux, cloud certs). Time management is essential. I don't need to be A+ on everything.

I just recently started to implement the *playback speeds* via the ⚙️ icon myself usually going from 1.25 - 1.5x. And yes, it does take a little training, especially at the highest speeds. Not that hard though.

Note: at times 1.25x doesn't get the job done in contrast to 1.75x+.

Yet, anything in higher speeds up to 2x mainly depends on how long the content is & how the speaker speaks.
