They problem is not that they didn't take a rest after Endgame. The problem is that they stopped respecting the characters, respecting the fans, respecting the source material. They started pushing DEI garbage and insulting the fans. This is what went wrong with the MCU.

When you acount for inflation, Captain America: The First Avenger has still made more money than Brave New World.

Marvel downplaying the failure of Brave New World at the box office kinda shows how much they’ve lowered the bar for a “successful” movie.

I think it was around ten years ago that Spielberg said something to the effect that Hollywood's chasing of blockbusters would be the industry's implosion.

I've never understood how hiding the actual costs didn't constitute a fraud against Disney's shareholders. It's a publicly traded company. The shareholders are entitled to know the actual numbers. Enron's executives were prosecuted and new laws created as a consequence because they were lying to shareholders and hiding losses. How Disney is able to do the same thing is a mystery to me.

It's not about entertaining, it's about social engineering.

The MCU ended for me with Infinity War, and it was incredible.

They are so desperate for positive press that they end up humiliating themselves in the process. Also we all know that the budget for BNW was in-between 350 to 400 million.

My Cinema took in a lot of those Captain America: The New World popcorn buckets, hoping they would all sell out immediately.
4 weeks have passed and only 1 has left their shelf 😆

Black Widow budget was $280+million. For this Captain America movie, Harrison Ford alone is $20millon. That's his price right off the budget. So now Disney is at $160million for the rest of the film. No way. With reshoots, which has been reported as heavy amount was reshot.

We need to return back to 80 million films made with real care.

What's weird is that the huge inflated budgets do not translate onto the screen. Not even close. Not so long ago I remember when Terminator 2 came out and they talked about how expensive the move was- I think they said 100 million at the time. But you could tell! It was all there on the screen. It looked like it cost a fortune to make and it was pure joy to behold. Now, we get trash like Hot Wings America and it looks like it should have cost 50 million if that. It's almost like a money laundering scheme...

They should have absolutely taken a break after Endgame. It was the biggest moment in the MCU so far and still is today. If they had let that settle in for a few years, then they could have had more time for the audience to "want" more and they could have focused on the writing. It would have been better all around.

Adjust the First Avenger’s gross for inflation.

I get more and more suspicious as time goes by. Every movie has to have a budget of hundreds of millions, and I have no clue where it all goes. Years ago, films were made on a quarter of the budget and most of it was done for real with practical effects. Today most of a film’s budget is seemingly spent on overpaying the cast, using too much CGI and God knows what dubious processes only to get a mediocre end product that barely makes its money back.

How is it legal for a publicly traded company to lie so much about its costs?

The real cost of movies has become more secret over the years.
