If you have to choose specific times to drive to be profitable!? Then freedom and flexibility is an urban myth!? You are a slave to the few hrs of making a profit each day.

The most profitable trips for me are those I do on my commute. I've been doing it for 5 years. I'm driving those miles anyway. Last week I had 1 hr of booked time on Lyft and earned $40. I'm tired of chasing bonuses and surge.

I drive a few days a week and at specific ti es for my area. Someti es, because i have i somnia, i enjoy driving in the middle of the night. Its a peaceful time, little traffic and most passengers are happy to find a driver.

I am one of those (20-30 hours/week) drivers. You are fully correct! I'm not making enough money but I'm doing all what full time drivers do (except the driving hours). I got stuck in this situation because my car is a 2017 used Honda Civic and it's not in the best shape mechanically. Plus I'm a big guy and I don't fit well in it for driving long hours, right knee and thigh start hurting usually on the fifth hour of the day driving.

Interesting. I have a business I built and now it runs itself. So I'm doing Little League umpire/board position. Love it. But in August, I've got nothing on my schedule. Driving 12+ hrs a day every day except just 6hrs on Sunday. But I never drive 9pm-4am. I'll take you to the bar, someone else will need to take you home! 80+ hours in August. 50+ most other months. April, May and June, maybe 20hrs per week.

All depends on what you want to get out of it. I don’t think full time is where it’s at. Just my opinion.
