Sue - Bobby Rush - 1983

Bluesman, Bobby Rush, scored a hit with, Sue, released on the LaJam label in 1983. Rush's popularity grew during the 1980's and all the way into the 2000's as his brand of southern soul/blues experienced a revival and he was able to crossover into the mainstream blues/rock genre as well as keep his core audience of the southern chitlin circuit clubs and festivals that he had been performing in since the early 1960's. Rush received critical acclaim in the 2000's, winning numerous blues awards. Those awards were the payoff for a career of 60+ years of bringing his brand of energectic fun live shows full of humor and good old fashioned funky blues to a mainstream audience.
