Finally someone with an intresting take on the Giants situation

I like what the Giants are doing. Although they likely do not have a QB now, they have a lot of talented young players and it seems the team is being built for the future. Which ever QB comes in next season will have a solid young team to develop with.

6 teams really beat the Giants in 2023
Cowboys 49ers & Raiders (top 10 Defenses)
Seahawks
Dolphins
Saints
Everyone else was a 1 score win against a 2nd and 3rd string QB, abysmal Oline, no WR1, and back up TE's. A healthy Giants team might bring some good competition on Sundays

Love the Malik Nabers pick for my Giants. We have a loaded receiving corps now with Nabers, Slayton, Wan’Dale & Hyatt as the central core. Daniel Jones has the physical talents that you covet for a QB & off the charts intangibles. He’s flashed brilliance especially in his rookie season & 2022. This is essentially year 2 under Daboll for him as he was hurt for most of 2023. The years under Judge were a wash for Jones & basically a digression for him. He just needs to stay healthy. Giants have an improved Oline & pass rush, a better secondary & a deep & balanced group of offensive weapons. Jones knows his grip on the starting job is tenuous. He has to have a breakout year or he’s through until Big Blue can draft Arch Manning😆😉

I actually liked Bo Nix a lot. What you like to see is progress & improvement from your QB which is what Nix’s college playing trajectory was about. We know that not all of the Tier 1 QBs in this year’s draft composed of Williams, Daniels & Maye will succeed. Same goes for the “Tier 2” QBs consisting of Penix, Nix & the Boy Wonder JJ McCarthy. Perhaps, in fact, one or two of the Tier 2 guys has a better career than the Tier 1 guys. Bo Nix couldn’t have gone to a better situarion & the Broncos didn’t have to trade the farm to move up & grab him. Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton is an offensive guy & an alleged QB guru. Nix shares a lot traits with Payton’s former future Hall of Fame WB Drew Brees - Nix & Brees are timing & accuracy QBs. They’re finesse not power types. If the Broncos can ease Nix into the role without putting too much on him, he could turn into a very good QB. Same for McCarthy.

I don’t fault the Falcons for picking Penix at 8 despite giving Kirk a big 4 year contract. If you like a QB, you take him. It’s another ideal situation for this QB. Nix will have to start sooner but both McCarthy & Penix can sit & learn under their current veteran QBs & receive solid mentoring. Penix has a great arm but if he can learn under the talented Cousins for a year or two, it will pay big dividends for years in the near future. The Falcons have been drafting big offensive weapons with the first round picks the past 3 years but have had a QB carousel & little stability at the position. Now they have a veteran Top 10 QB in Kirk Cousins to start & they have a top young QB as his understudy & backup. They could now be set at QB for years so all the criticism is just excessive. If Penix succeeds in a couple of years, no one will really remember or care about the criticisms.

The best part of the Giants draft was not trading a QB they don’t love for a QB they don’t love.

I Love how Uncle Colin was able to keep a somewhat straight face while his wine drinking buddy Nick was feeling his sweet red!!!

They win so long as the players drafted play at their projected draft positions. Someone will play better and someone won’t live up to expectations, and we won’t know that for awhile. Love the show, thanks Colin, always enjoy your opinions. Best in the business 👍

On Atlanta -- Cousins is a good QB, and so, if the team does well this coming season, they will pick like #28 or something next time they can make a first round pick. That means a challenge to trade up etc. So this draft was their chance to get a future QB knowing Cousins won't be the long term answer.

If New England took the Giants deal on draft day - They could've drafted JJ McCarthy at #6 overall and have a ton of draft capital to build around him - Which would have been worth more than a high QB pick in Drake Maye and no draft capital to build around him. Talk about missed opportunities and a chance for immediate success.

You should have Nick Wright on and bring up the presidential debate. Watch him squirm and cry that it's not fair. I would love that.

Being “fine” is lovely…they’d be much better without wasting a massive portion of their cap. There’s a reason why countless QBs have won or nearly won on rookie deals. Lighting that on fire intentionally a la Atlanta or unintentionally like Denver isn’t okay cause you’re not a disaster.

How does Nick Wright have a job. His takes are right 50/50.

Dead cap only hurts is you miss on younger players. You have to have a plan and over spending on free agents with a dead cap will do you in
