Imaginary Audience

Показать описание
An imaginary audience is something largely experienced in adolescents, though not strictly limited to them. It's when one thinks that everyone is watching everything they do, so when they fumble or make a mistake (or spill Gatorade all over themselves), they become embarrassed or anxious, they feel like everyone just saw what they did and is judging, mocking, and/or laughing at them. This is largely in part because of their egocentric mindset that is developing as they become more and more self-aware as growing almost-adults.

But what if everyone is watching them? What if they're watching you?
