WG2 ONLINE WEBINAR- SUSTAINABLE SMALL-SCALE FISHERIES: SUCCESS STORIES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN MPAS

The Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community (MBPC) and its Working Group 2 on Sustainable Use of Natural Resources organise a webinar on success stories on sustainable small-scale fisheries (SSF) in the Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The event will be coordinated by the CPMR Intermediterranean Commission.
The aim of this webinar is to report best practices on SSF governance from two renown Mediterranean-based projects:
- “Transforming Mediterranean Small-Scale Fisheries”, led by WWF Mediterranean Marine Initiatives, aims to establish a "co-management for SSF" system in 24 pilot sites from 10 Med countries.
- “FishMPABlue2”, led by Federparchi-Europarc Italy, tested 12 measures of SSF governance and management in 11 pilot Marine Protected Areas from 6 Med countries.
