'On an unsustainable path': California Senate Republicans unveil priorities

I understand that fixing the homelessness in California was a campaign promise. Quite a challenge !
In Ontario, Canada where I live, there are tent cities and homeless people everywhere. This, however is not a result of not trying, to this day to get these people off the streets and help them. In my city of Hamilton alone there are residences, hotel rooms and other accommodations these people can seek and know are there.
The biggest problem is that there are rules that go along with these shelters / accommodations , and the vast majority of these people do not want anyone telling them what to do in return for help.
Eg. They don't want curfews, they want to be able to party, they wish to have visitors who are questionable, they just want to be obstinate and could freeze to death.
Sounds insane, and certainly is !
I think California has a very tough job / fight on their hands in dealing with this problem, not to mention the deadly drugs also involved !
These people need to wake up, or most likely perish, when they really don't have to !

We will never reduce street unsheltered homelessness without reducing the amount of fentanyl and P2P based meth drugs on our streets. Make no mistake about this. Street unsheltered homeless reject any help if it means they have to get sober. Fentanyl addiction is extreme with extreme anxieties and physical pain.
