A friend was in the middle of telling me what a great album "Ummagumma" by Pink Floyd was, when I heard the first notes of 'Border Song' over the radio. It was like the volume level of my friend's voice went to zero, and all I could hear was the song. My pickup was so instant at the start, I swear!

I was born in 1966 so they were a bit before my time but after watching The Documentary, I had a better understanding of who they were. I would have loved for Olivia Newton-John (RIP) do a duet to Don't Go Breaking My Heart with Barry Gibb. Brian Wilson would have been perfect to sing "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". Please pray for him. He lost his Wife Melinda Leadbetter not to long ago (RIP), now he has early Dementia. Elton as you know inducted them into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1988.

For as long as I’d admired the music of Elton John I finally got to hear him play live at Dodger Stadium in 2022. This was the concert they televised on Disney+. For as epic and wonderful as the show was I was as excited to see Bernie, then David and the boys onstage! I shit you not, I got to see Elton and Bernie in the flesh!

Lately I have read both Elton’s (« Me ») and Bernie’s (« Scattershot ») autobiographies, and while I found the latter more literarily refined and full of surprises, both are touching, funny, and definitely good reads. Interestingly, they almost never mention each other in their respective books…like it was not only two rooms, but two lives, who fortunately for the rest of us, would cross paths once in a while to compose those fabulous songs.

I remember Bruce Hornsby being included in the documentary. Was there an extended version broadcast on TV and this is a sort of pared down film-length edit? Nice upload anyway

Could someone please tell me if PP Arnold is one of the backing vocalists on Border Song.
