Released in October 1968, Electric Ladyland was Jimi Hendrix’s third and final album with the original Experience line-up and found him taking his funk and psychedelic sounds to the absolute limit. The result was not only one of the best rock albums of the era, but also arguably the best studio album the Jimi Hendrix ExExperience produced in their brief career together.

What a Hendrix album to discover! My 1st Hendrix album and it amazed me. The deep soul of the title song, the wah-wah lead in to the solo on Let The Good Times Roll, the talking wah-wah guitar on Rainy Day, Crosstown Traffic, Little Miss Strange....the whole album is a revelation. Cheers, LickLibrary!!

I know nothing about playing a guitar. It looks like a very hard instrument to learn how to play. This video confirms my speculation. Then came someone like Hendrix, who was a self taught musician and in a span of about four years in the spotlight has been considered the best guitarist of all time. He’s been dead a little over fifty years and musicians even today considered him as being still the best ever. Mind blowing today so you can imagine those that were fortunate enough to have seen him perform live. I didn’t start listening to Hendrix until the summer of 1971. When I bought the Band of Gypsys album I thought it was a waste of money. I thought it was a bunch of noise that did not make sense. It took several months of listening before I was able to realize the genius of his playing. In other words, I had to catch up to what he was doing.
