“I watched Rambo at like 9, so I became Rambo by like 25-30.”

What an absolute legend of a man.

Rambo was about PTSD. I forgot about that watching it as a kid. Now I have PTSD the movie means even to more to me.

I think I saw all of the Rambo movies by the time I was 7. The first was potentially the best movie ever made.

I always thought it was the previous generations before you who served.. the 80s movies were always a bonus. Listening to your great-grandfather your grandfather or your uncle can definitely direct you

Top Gun, Rambo, Commando, Delta Force, post war movies like The Midway and so on. Watched it all right next to my Dad at 7+. Daddy's Girl. I did not watch Alien though. No thank you. I'm a proud Patriot that loves our military and first responders. Those movies left a mark. They made me appreciate what these men and women sacrifice. What it means to and why you should "Speak softly but carry a big stick." I could go on and on... Thank all of you for serving!❤

Amazing how movies affect enlistment. My influence was family, but I knew a lot of Joes who joined because of movies.

Although I've seen Rambo as a kid, the first movie that made me want to play soldier was "The Wild Geese".

The 80s had some of the best action movies, it was back when you go buy toy guns that look just like the real thing and they had no orange tip on the barrel. Charles Bronson death wish was my fave🎉

Big Red One was the movie that made me want to join the Army. My recruiter really had my back. I was hometown recruiter for 30 days then first duty station was Ft Riley. Left right before DS/DS but in 03-04 was deployed to OIF supporting the 1st Infantry Division so I finally got my BRO right shoulder patch and a year later I retired at 20 years.

What an impression, because in the end: Rambo was the victim of wartime trauma and being the last one alive.

The literal movie to define what PTSD can do to a man who's been captured, tortured, and just seen the horrific violence of wartime.

Glad to see this man turned out great, as many others did too.

I first got interested in joining the army when I watched A Bridge Too Far when I was 7. Of course, as you get older, you mature in your understanding of what military service is. I applied to the British Army last month and failed the medical questionnaire. I'm going to try for the reserves because I've got a friend with the same condition who managed to join. There's a route into the Regular Army from the Reserves.

The scary thing about war is it's brings out best in you to bring out worst In you

That film inspired me as well
Unfortunately I went to prison instead of the military and that’s my biggest regret I’ve ever made 😢
