Saw "One last time with Feeling..." last night in LA. I was moved and deeply affected by the film. My brother passed away May 2016 from a drug overdose and amongst the many thoughts and feelings I experienced, some of them were articulated in this film:

I wanted to tell everyone what happened to me, couldn't differentiate when it was appropriate, then felt ashamed for wanting pity.
I came to the conclusion that my brother was dead and gone forever, no matter how much people told me he'd live on, my final proof: 'Well, where's his voice? I'll never hear it again..."
It occurred to me that nothing actually happened to me. It happened to him. His wife. His children. I was just his brother and I loved him.
No matter what I write or say, its mostly a disservice to his life and legacy.

Dear Nick, may you and your family find peace in these hard times. Thank you for being so honest in this film - it really meant something to me.

There was a huge dissonance in my surroundings when this utterly beguiling track ended. A vacuum of silence after the storm of pain, beauty and a very haunting grief that left me unsettled and feeling almost nakedly vulnerable. Can't recall a track reaching so far inside of me that it echoed my own losses of family and friends.

This is beyond words just how dark but yet so beautifully beautiful.... I could not imagine the pain that he has endued or going through, but this song brings me to tears. For me personally, it reminds me of loosing my family (wife and kids).
