One of the best lightsaber duels EVER

I thought we'd take a look at one of my favorite Lightsaber duels ever - Darth Maul and his brother Savage Oppress vs Darth Sidious from The Clone Wars Season 5!

To be honest that was the most fun palpatine had in decades he always had to pretend to be a boring politician but in those 5 minutes he was a dark lord of the sith and showed his true power.

Savage was a complete beast literally, he had no technique which was abundantly clear here, he was sheer power and pure animalistic savage instinct

I also love how, after being let down from the window, Maul took Obi Wan's stance, a defensive fighting style the Jedi use.

That’s what I love about Sidious’ duel against the brothers. It’s the way moves, dodges, and swings. He plays and toys with them as if they were a pair of inexperienced and arrogant Sith acolytes from the Old Republic. It’s only when Mail pulls out the Darksaber and even kicks Sidious back, that he gets serious.

Also, I an Ask Eck question; what would you fix about the Acolyte? What changes and improvements would you make if given the opportunity?

This coupled with Satine dying in Obi Wan's arms, and the look of sad regret he had in his eyes, makes this Clone Wars episode the best of them all, IMHO.

I've always loved the fact that palpatine is just toying with them throughout the fight. He didn't just defeat maul he mocked maul for thinking that maul could even be consider himself a rival.

This will always be my favourite animated duel in Star Wars.

Seriously, when a scene from the Clone Wars can compete with Luke V.S. Vader in ROTJ, you know it's good.

I did like this one, but I was more impressed with the Season 7 Maul vs Ahsoka. As soon as it began I thought it looked so much better than what came before, they’d actually gotten the moves closer to what we’d seen from Maul in live action. I later found out that they actually used Ray Park aka live action Maul & another weapons expert for motion capture to make this scene, technology they didn’t possess in earlier seasons. If you pay close attention you can see the difference.
