Had my Grandfather listen to this, hes big into metal. He thought I was lying when i told him it was from an MMORPG, until I went into the Raid while I was staying with him. His jaw dropped.

The line "Your gods can't hear you" hits all the harder in a fantasy setting where we're literally getting on a first name basis with those gods in *the same patches.*

The lyrics felt like it came from the early 2000s. I love it.

One thing worth pointing out is that this song was made by Takafumi Imamura, one of the composers working under Soken. That's probably why the community got the lyrics so right this time around. Compare it with the P4 theme or even the second phase of P8S and you'll see what I mean. Soken almost seems to treat the vocals as another instrument. There also tends to be some sort of effect layered on top of it, making them hard to decipher. In Scream, though, the vocals are front and center, clear as day.

"Buried alive in the coffin of who I used to be" is such a raw ass line goddamn

I love the evolution from "Scream all you like, your gods can't hear you" to "I'll scream all I like, 'cause we're all mad here." Nobody can hear them, and that makes them scream all the louder for rescue. It plays on a similar idea to the lyrics of Answers, in which Hydaelyn is petitioned for answers ("How can we carry on when redemption's beyond us?") and offers words that just prompt more desperate questions ("Hear what, feel what?"). In Pandaemonium, there are no gods to save us, which makes the act of screaming a mad endeavor... and yet we must scream for some solace or prayer for escape.

You have to love how FF14 never never fails to have the best music of any MMO by far.

The "rescue me, rescue me" is haunting. Beneath all the bluster and grandstanding of the lyrics, that tiny bit of them still left is really just begging for us to save them. While their anger and anguish at their misfortune is the main part of the song, the front, misguidedly trying to spread their misery to the players. Wanting for us to be the lions. Monsters. Like them.

"Scream all you like, your gods can't hear you."
"Of course they can't, *i killed them all."*

I want to make mention of Chad's choice of font: it goes perfectly with Pandæmonium's aesthetics and themes. A nice little touch of artistry there.

I like how a lot of people are reminded of Evanescence from this song. (I even had a guy named Evan Essence in a fight against "Evil Dead tree" lol)

"Scream all you like, your gods can't hear you" hits so hard.

All you have is your friends, and yourself, against these monstrosities of what was once people.

Can I just say that the video edit of it is *banging*? The way you matched the visuals to the beats and lyrics and mixed the two encounters was just a joy to watch. Thats why I always come back to your videos!

I appreciate how the last raid's final song had the line "Here be lions, follow me..." as well, and this song takes it further and implores the lamb to "be the lion"

Wow the community actually got most of them right, that's super cool!

This track could literally be released as a single of its own, and fit in with like 2000s rock. If I didn't know any better, people could tell me it's an old school song and I'd fall for it.

Dude that slick editing in the intro really caught my eye. Especially when the camera zooms in on the WoL and back out and you're in a different arena.
