Words like "seniors" and “the elderly" drive thinking that we are less competent as we age. These terms are “othering” rather than being inclusive. Using words like “older adult” or “older people” - but realize that in using these terms, an 18 year old may think about people in their 50’s.

Experts need to communicate with the public to make sure that the thinking for Americans is positive about aging because it can shorten your lifespan, and you end up with more health problems because of it.

Quit trying to redefine words and terms! If you don’t eventually nothing will have meaning anymore or worse everything will be the opposite meaning of the original intention. I.E. the word literally

She is a pessimistic person! You have to know that, they are called Seniors because they have more experience and wisdom! You maybe stronger physically but Seniors are more stronnger and experienced in their mental and emotional state than the young people….
