Best Smartphones of 2022 (So Far)

Reviewing the top 10 best smartphones that I've unboxed and tested in 2022 so far, including my favourite camera phones, gaming handsets and those blowers offering the greatest value. From the Oppo Find X5 series and Realme GT2 (& GT 2 Pro) to the lovable Xiaomi 12 and Vivo X80 Pro, these are my picks for the best phones recently launched.

My personal favourite handsets from 2022 include the Oppo Find X5 Pro, which is impressive in every area and costs from £1049 in the UK right now. The Xiaomi 12, which is the best compact blower with no compromise to battery life - like the S22 should have been. Also, the Realme GT2 phones are great value for money if you don't mind losing some non-essential features like wireless charging.

Extremely pleased with my Oppo Find X5 Pro I've been singing its praises to everyone since I got it a couple months ago. Really impressive device and there are a lot of great contract deals if you shop around. Nice video!

The Oppo X5 has been a brilliant phone for me so far. Great battery, screen and camera plus you get a screen protector, case and fast charging cable/adaptor as standard. So many makers now are so stingey to leave these out.

Moved from Xiaomi to the Oppo Find X5 Pro and could not be happier. I am not much of gamer but the long battery life and fantastic camera are perfect for me. Throw in the 80W SuperVOOC boot and I won't be changing for a while.

I've seen a lot of reviewers find the xiaomi 12X even nearly as good as the regular 12 for a lower price. I would love to see Chris review it as these are the only reviews I trust.

I'm so happy lol. Normally in New Zealand all of samsungs s series have exynos but this year they have the snapdragon 8 Gen 1, because of that Im probably going to go with the s22 + or standard s22 as I don't really need a amazing battery life

I've been using OnePlus since forever and I must say, the new one is not better than it's predecessor. Just more expensive.
Will be switched to a new brand in the near future.

I am currently rocking my S20 Ultra 512 GB, 5G model for about almost 2 years now and don't see myself upgrading to a new phone for quite some time. Many of the mobile uses are less and less on gaming and more on web browsing and video streaming.

I do look at new phones for what new tech or display they have, care little for camera lens or megapixel. Still, the under-screen camera (a very good one) may sway me over to a new smartphone but not anytime soon, more in like 3 more years from now.

In general, smartphones has become very durable in term of battery life and general wear and tear, new phones are mainly aimed at those that has been using the same old phones for the past 4+ years, it all depends on the use case, app, and features you intend to use. For general purpose, they have come a very long way since 2018.
