Great Podcast again. CHF kept me sane through Covid which was one of the worst times of my life as I lost both my Aunt and my mum between April and July and we could see no one. Their funerals were unable to be attended by more than 20 people...and every day I watched CHF and had my little bit of sanity. God Bless you all❤

Another great podcast, brought back to me such devastating times, foot and mouth here in the Forest of Dean was heart breaking. Our forest had a lot of free range sheep along with other wildlife, opposite me is a large field of sheep some quite tame. I remember that terrible Wednesday hearing all the sheep making lots of noise and I just knew what was happening I dare not look, but within a couple of hours there was complete silence. It was the same in the forest itself where there were marked areas where sheep would be in a compound. Then as you said the dreadful stench of burning wool and burning flesh wafting across us and thick acrid smoke. Times I hope never to have to witness again. Many tears were shed for the millions of innocent and healthy animals that were thoughtlessly slaughtered and the poor farmers who had lost their livestock. Covid was also bad but we got through it.

We drove from Durham to the west coast one day during the foot and mouth, and seeing, on the Roman road, not a thing moving in the fields , no cows, no sheep, totally empty, only one red tractor in the distance, ,it was like a sci fi movie

My ex husband said the burning of the animals would spread the disease. It’s like you said the wind blew the ashes around.
