Black Sapote is a delicious and not very well know tropical fruit. The flesh has the consistency of chocolate pudding and I don't know if it's just in my head but it tastes chocolaty too. This was my first time trying Black Sapote and I wish I didn't wait so long to taste it!.

This fruit is delicious! I remember trying it for the first time when I went to the doctors. They have a tree growing in their yard, and it was loaded with fruit.
I picked one of the fruits and planted the seeds, and I have 3 little black sapote plants now!

I remember having my first custard fruit in Martinique 🇲🇶 when my mother, (God rest her beautiful soul), and I went on vacation there for a month. I’m a grandmother now yet I still taste that smooth, silky, sweet and unbelievably delicious mouthful!! It was like the most perfect vanilla mousse I’ve ever had!!! I was ten years old then. I’m in my 50’s now. And, believe me I have had several of the best dining experiences all over the world 🌎 in my lifetime. However, nothing was anything like that❤

I just had my first ever Black Sapote. I had gotten 2 fruits. The first one was okay, maybe I should have let is ripen some more. The 2nd one, which I ate yesterday, was really good. I had let this one ripen almost 2 weeks and then in the fridge for several days. This time I totally enjoyed every bite!!
