Boone Scenic Valley Steam Locomotive

It was a great day when I got invited up into the cab of a working steam locomotive! This archive footage was shot about 1996 at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railway. This is a fairly large railroad museum located in the center of Iowa, not too far from Des Moines. The locomotive was built in China and you might notice the Chinese flag and the bi-lingual builders plate.

The true back story is that my camcorder battery died on me just as the train was coming in. I will forever rue that moment!
