Hello Sir . quick question : if mentioned on my I-20 that the amount of money in my Financial document is Greater than the remaining fees to pay the school ( for example i got scholarship of $41, 000 per year and the Total fees of the course is $67, 000 per year. Then i need to pay the school $26, 350 while my financial support is $55, 0000. Does it make sense ?

Thanks for the valuable information. I have received my admission and I-20 of my Ph.D. from a high ranking university, however I do not have any kind of scholarship. I need to have a sponsor showing 40, 000 $ which is not a problem. But still I am afraid of denial of my visa. I am also thinking of applying to other universities in case I get partial assistance and to leave this one because if it is denied the record may affect my future visa application. From your experience is it possible to get a visa approved for a self funded Ph.D. student??

I had some queries:
1. My I20 amount is $52k, I have approved loan from an NBFC of $67k. Now while in interview, when they ask who is sponsoring you, should I tell I have took a loan of $67k from NBFC, thats it....Or should i tell, I have took a loan of so and so, and my dad has savings of xyz Lakhs? As I20 is just 1 year expense, so do they require to check our funds for 2nd year?

2. In Liquid funds, can I show all liquid funds in form of gold assets? or I need to have some Lakhs in my savings account, and if that, what amount should I show in savings?

What happens if my sister is sponsoring my education and i mentioned it in the DS-160 and i-20.
But then I didn't mentioned that my father is supporting as well.
So, can i mention his name during the interview that he is also supporting as well?
If they asked for financial documents then can i show the document that i summited at university to receive i-20??

And even if i didn't mention my father in DS -16, then can i show my father's properties proof and Bank statement as a supporting role??
