There's something odd about Big Ben

I took this video because I wondered how often different clock faces of Big Ben had different times, Very, very unusual.

2012 was the Diamond Jubilee, not the silver one.

Also, I said St. Guy's. I meant St Thomas's (as in hospitals).

Taken on Sunday 26 December, 2021.

It is odd to see indeed! But what’s cool about the setup of this clock is how the main movement powers all the dials. Unlike Liverpool’s liver building where each face has its own movement.
The movement here sits at a level just below the faces and a rod extends up from the movement to a small “nest of gears” called the motionwork. This is where the hands connect to, four rods extend from this nest to each of the dials that powers the hands. This is called the “lead-off motionwork” each rod can be disconnected effectively stopping one of the dials which is what’s happened here. They’ve disconnected the west dial and set the hands to 12 as they’re still working on this area of the tower where the ventilation shaft is. That’s where the lift has gone. Once work there is done they’ll reconnect the rod to the motionwork and all the dials will be displaying the right time.
