House of the Dragon - Caraxes the blood wyrm

Caraxes looks like nuzzling daemon and it's adorable. They are just bassically demon sky puppies, that breathe fire.

Having worked with reptiles, the thing that gets me the most here is the animation with the eye movement at 0:12 . That little detail of how the pupil moves, is just so… snake-like. I’ve seen that movement in royals, burms, and boas as they take in new people and their surroundings. Such a small thing, but it makes him so alive and real

Caraxes has a long slithering body. He embodies his reptilian nature very well. And, that screech fits him oh, so well.

They did an incredible job with Caraxes. His movements are unique and the sounds and his roar are even better

0:14 I love this shot. Daemon had turned his head away yet it’s still a perfect angle for us to see Caraxes doing a very dragon-y sneer. 💖

Considering this shows how different daemons bond is with caraxes compared to aemond and vhagar is amazing it is like daemon and caraxes are one and have a much stronger bond.

Supposedly, under GRRM's direction, the show runners deliberately moved away from the design of the dragons seen in GOT, to give them more distinct identities. That's not to say we won't see dragons like them in the future, but there will be more variety. For my own, I like Caraxes' much more serpentine visage, it really helps him stand out, and I'm looking forward to seeing all the other Targaryen dragons, especially Vhagar.
(SIDEBAR: Meleys will also be in this series, and is also red; I'm sure differentiating her from Caraxes was a priority for the team)

The fact that he was able to kill Vhagar is pretty impressive. Granted he died as well but that’s still some mad props being able to take down the biggest dragon in the world. I wonder how Vermithor Would have fared against vhagar in a one versus one
