I met Rhyanna when we were 14. This was her favourite song. For almost 3 years, she was the light in the darkness of my problems. Now she's been ripped away, her parents are moving away for good. She said this song symbolised us in the future. I thought it was just her being silly and goofy, it's what I always liked about her. Her altruistic optimism about the future. Her undying faith in me when most would have caved in.

But as the scent of her slightly wavy black hair fades from my clothes, that angelic face flashes persistently in my memory and the sand falls in the hourglass of time, she will just be one more more chapter on which a page is closed. There will be no more laughs together that make her eyes sparkle. The eyes which I used to lock mine own with. The endless flow of pure love, admiration and friendship. Those goofy yet cherished promises I made to her that I would be with her forever. The sensual and comforting warmth of her body against mine. Her hands running fluidly and constantly through my hair, just like our separation runs through the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years and decades. Those seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years and decades to come without her in my arms. Without her beside me, fighting life's battles together. Without the only real companion and lover I have and probably ever will have.
