Well after seeing your tear down and Squatch's tri-build I am now quite familiar with these engines although I have never seen one in the flesh. Back in the 80's I bought a Lister CS (cold start) diesel at an auction for £2, Its a 5 hp single cylinder stationary engine usually coupled to a generator. It was badly frost damaged and seized solid. I fought for ages to get it apart but I just ended up cleaning the bearing surfaces with emery paper, repairing the cracks in the water jacket with JB Weld that I textured to match the cast iron. When painted you could not see the cracks. I splashed out on a new pump and injector and it ran like a Swiss watch for the 20 years I had it. It is surprising how engines can be brought back from the dead, they are actually very tolerant machines

That block is in tons better shape than that one I welded up last year.

Oh ya, definitely have to reuse those fold over locks, just to see Squatch's eye twitch! LOL

Beautiful loving dogs, when each has his 12th birthday, you will need to get yourself together mentally because your time together is getting short and the personal loss and hurt are on the way. I know, inasmuch as I deeply loved and cherished all of my loyal pets over the years and you seem to be no different than me in your love of your pets. Keep up the faith with the RD-4 project, it is really coming along at a good pace and the basic parts seem to be in better condition than I and probably you as well had expected.

Enjoying the series👍🏼 certainly enjoy the short clips of the dogs at the end! Life is always better with dogs, at least from my perspective!

Time to call up Florin and get some bearings, rings, valve guides, valve springs and new valves. Might as well get it new while it’s still available. Some day it won’t be.

I worked in a machine shop and was given a Corvette Lt1 and had to cut a set of Pink rods in order to save the steel crank and block

Good tear down video, Kyle. Don't let Luke Stasser know about that block having the wrong number on it. He won't let you forget. LOL

What's the opposite of ASMR? That's what watching the first crank pully attempt was for me. Who doesn't love it when something goes from tight to squishy?
