I demonstrate how to display the seconds in the system tray clock on Windows 11. I show you where to find the taskbar settings and behaviors and how to enable this feature.
Introduction
Windows 11 has introduced some new features and customization options, and one of them is the ability to display the seconds in your clock. This can be useful for various purposes, such as keeping track of time more accurately or simply adding a touch of precision to your desktop. In this blog post, we will guide you through the steps to enable this feature in Windows 11.
Enabling the Show Seconds Feature
To enable the Show Seconds feature, follow these simple steps: 1. Right-click on the taskbar. This will open a context menu with various options. 2. From the context menu, select "Taskbar settings." This will open the Taskbar settings window. 3. In the Taskbar settings window, click on "Taskbar Behaviors." This section allows you to customize the behavior of the taskbar. 4. Scroll down until you find the option "Show Seconds in the System Tray Clock." This option may not be immediately visible, so make sure to scroll through the available options. 5. Check the box next to "Show Seconds in the System Tray Clock." Once checked, the clock on your desktop will display the seconds in addition to the hours and minutes. 6. Please note that enabling this feature may result in slightly higher power consumption, as the system needs to continuously update the seconds display.
Seeing the Seconds in Action
After enabling the Show Seconds feature, you will be able to see the seconds in your clock. For example, if the time is currently 12:46 PM, the clock will now show 12:46:27, 12:46:28, and so on, with the seconds continuously ticking. This can be helpful for tasks that require precise timing or for simply keeping a closer eye on the passing seconds.

Thanks Chris for another straight-to-the-point video - well done. For my version of Win11 the path is a little different:
Settings> Time & Language> Date & Time> Show time and date in system tray. There is a little "drop down" arrow to the right of the on/off toggle for showing time and date. Click that and you should see the check box to show the seconds. Then check the box for "Show seconds in system tray clock" Of course Microsoft has to change it every now and then... ;-)

Wow, now I can take my heart rate! Thanks, Chris. I didn't know that setting existed.

This video is now defunct as they have changed the location of the setting to Date and Time instead of Taskbar behaviors. Just letting you know.

Thanks Chris.
Is there a way to disable the date being displayed in the taskbar clock?
