Marshall Monitor 2 Review | Best ANC Headphones for 2020?

Review of the Marshall Monitor 2 ANC headphones, among the best noise cancelling 'phones you can buy in 2020. But are they as good as the Sony WH-1000Mk3? I've been testing the Marshal Monitor 2 for over a fortnight now and here's what I think of the music performance, Bluetooth connectivity, battery life and beyond.

With a UK asking price of £270, these are definitely just as expensive as those Sony and Bose noise cancellation headphones. However, the audio quality and ANC chops are just about as strong, while the design is a step above. I love that Marshall styling, which is classic rock through and through - and the Monitor II's are definitely on brand.

I love how when you don’t have the anc on very little sound from the outside gets in. I bought these for the anc and sound quality but I’ve found I haven’t really needed the anc. These have great sound with the adjustable EQ. I love the electronic and sound EQ options, they work great for metal and rock music.

Active noise cancellation is cool and all dont get me wrong, I can see why people want, but I feel like I'm the only one that prefers to not have anc because I personally prefer to know what's going on around me so I'm not ignoring someone or I can tell when something important around me is going on

Just ordered these based on your review. I owned the original Marshall Monitor headphones (and had them for many years) but must have left them down the pub as I can't find them. Great review as always!

Mine died. Leather peeled off everywhere, skull shroud and earphone cup. The exposed coiled wiring wore through and causes the Bluetooth to disconnect. However I absolutely wore them to death. Enjoyed massive battery life, cool looks and sturdy feel.

Great review. How would the comfort compare to the Sony WH-1000XM3?

Didn't know they made a new version of these! I have the previous one and love it. Sad to see less brass on V2 though. Not that there was a lot of it on V1, I just thought they looked a lot nicer as they got a nice natural patina with use. A little duller shine and some green spots. USB-C and ANC on V2 is reason enough to consider an upgrade for me

I had the first monitor. The problem that I had with them was that they were to tight around the ears and the size of the cups were small. Does these have the same problem? how is the comfort overall?

In the previous Marshacll BT Monitors there was a background noise (a hishhhh) when you where using the BT connection. This noise where noticeable at very low volume. Can you notice it on this ANC Monitor? In the MID there wasn't any noise.

Hi, sooo I have a Big question. I'm about to buy my first high quality headphones, but I'm torn between the Sony WH1000XM4 and the Marshall Monitor 2 ANC. What Is your take on these two, which one Is better in sound? In my local store the Sony are in discount so it's a bit cheaper than the Marshall, but I do like more the Marshall's looks. Now the break point for me Is the sound quality, not so much the ANC, I have been told and found on internet that the sound quality Is better in the Sony's than the Marshall's, but how much?? Cause if it's just by a bit I think I'll go with the marshall because of the durability. (Also I do prefer a Neutral Sound or Soundstage). Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Shure and master and dynamic and b&w may sound better, but I love this design

The Marshall website and other sites selling this headphone state that it does have APTx capabilities. Perhaps reread the box and/or instruction manual?
