First AoE2 DE Commentary! DauT vs Hera!

This was my first bit of commentary on AoE2 DE Gameplay between DauT (Cumans) and Hera (Bulgarians)! I forgot to enable the high graphics for this actually, but it was a lot of fun and these new civs seem very interesting. We will continue to explore the new civs and game over the next few days on the Youtube and Twitch channel.

I didn't toggle on the enhanced graphics for this cause I'm a noob, but the game was absolute quality and figured I'd send it here anyhow. I should have my Cuman civ video later this afternoon for you all. It's a really sick civ!

Also, I like how the game looks and new civs, but a little bit concern if it would divide player base. Hell, there are literally THREE versions of the game at this point.

Minor DE nitpick: I'm not super keen on the spectator overlay. I liked seeing the tech progress in AOC, and pretty much everything the guys at Capture Age brought to the game. Fortunately, that means that there might be some room for them to improve on the new formula...

I need to adjust my eyes and get used to this, I have a hard time seeing what's going on or identifying units, especially in fights. I hope it's just something I'll get used to, older AOE2 benefitted from very simple animations and unit models especially given the number of units.

I agree krepost should be smaller. They're kinda between a tower and castle, so it makes sense for the scale of the graphic to be in between.

damn, that is a great job with the graphics. it looks a bit more modern but they essentially kept the old look. you recognize things automatically (with the exception of a few special units in my opinion) without thinking

I'm from NZ and it's always been a pain for me when every game I play in lags, especially the team games. I'm so hyped to get rid of the lag, finally. Everything looks amazing!

Hello from Athens, friend! Long time since I first subbed to you- it's 3 years and something now- but I always watch your videos. Well, this seems to be a really definitive edition, I'm hypped to get it as soon as I can. Unfortunately, my work prevents me from this... But I see that the dev team has done a good job and the new civs are very good. Steppe-themed, they seem, and variants of Slavs, I think. Not a bad idea, as there are variations of all the civ types, so as to have variety. As an analyst and good with numbers, I see that they have some work to do, in order to balance the new civs and discover antidotes to their advantages. But overall, it's a great game. Not a surprise though, as AOE 2 hides many of these, that's why it is the best game ever created- at least in my opinion, since I'm playing it for 20 years (started in 1999)...

Some parts, e.g. the fields and the people look a bit blurred, and the colors and contrasts aren't as nice as in HD.

I cannot wait for this! I played the crap out of AoE2 back during the MSN Zone days. I swear I had the fastest castle times around. :) I still play AoE regularly but I'm not good anymore. Hoping get back to form in this game.

Map scrolling seems a bit jittery, to the point of being bothersome. Was that an issue with the recording software or comp specs? Considering getting the DE version but want to know how well it actually runs

Krepost in a native language would have another letter following the T as with the Russian крепость. it's a silent letter that changes how the T sounds.
it's basically like "paste" or "state", so imagine saying paste but replace the "a" with an "o" and you get the same thing: Kre-post'e'

I don't know but I prefer the HD grafic, I'll definitelly buy it and maybe it just takes a few hours to get used to.

T90 are you running the game at 720p and streaming to 1080p? Everything is so blurry compared to actual 1080p footage that I saw today on Mixer. Hmmm
