Technically you can go to warp with the impulse engines if u overcharge the subspace field generator/exhaust manifold. It's probably limited to just over warp one before the impulse engines breaks. Considering that most starfleet ships would use the impulse engines for warp in emergencies, maybe Starfleet post TNG era had rebuilt them so that it can sustain that emergency warp much longer instead of just a quick single warp jump to get out of danger.

I just realized something. If the husnoc was in range of the federation, then shouldn't the federation have come across some of their dead civilization shortly thereafter?

I think I can fix those plasma torps to do what they should - unless that husnock has on their techs a phased plasma torp immunity.

I was like what just happened.. lol.. that was freaky... also love it when the Captain.. gets an evil chuckle... lol.. 😂 Well done Captain... I too had the same reaction, that ship was maneuvering fast.. wow.. Great tactics and battle Captain.. With this ship you took down the Husnock.. loved it! 😊🖖🥇🏆

You were wise to change your tactic. I actually chuckled the first time when it caused it to split you in half lol. It's POSSIBLE Miles would have been able to still make the ship go into warp....not sure lol.
