Kinda hard to win an information war when your entire business and manufacturing establishment is in bed with the enemy.

I would also like to point out that since China has strict control over media and the like, It likely doesn’t get reported when China suffers some kind of cyber attack - unlike in the US, where it makes headline news in minutes.

Just by observing society and politics these days it is safe to assume that there are people with access to secrets that would willingly give it away. Some probably feel a sense of duty and pride to do so.

I didn't think losing was the same as throwing the game.

The best defense is a good offense. However I just finished my certification course for certified network defender and I am switching careers specifically to fight in this war.

Cyberwarfare is like glasscannons. Its easy to break but hard to defend

"Virtually everyone in China is the same ethnicity, making it virtually impossible for an American to blend in." I get what you're saying here, but it's good to keep in mind that over 5 million Americans are of Chinese descent. It would be difficult for a white American to blend in, but there are millions of Americans who would find it considerably easier.

I work in cyber security and a lot of what you say is spot on. I'm on defense and yeah the job is not sexy at all but it is VERY important. It's impossible to plug every hole but we do our best. There is a balance you need to find between access and security and this shifts every year. The business has a lot of say in how this goes and it has burned us in the past but luckily there was only an intrusion and no data was exfiltrated. We did the throw away all infected hardware and replace it approach as it was WAY easier to do this than scrub it all.
Interesting video, lots of things to think over. I think the biggest affect of a cyber war would be the break down of society. No electricity, no internet, no cell phones, supply chain disruption, no digital cash or credit. How long would society last if these things were hit? How if even one was hit how long would things last before you had no choice but to seek peace to keep the nation from collapsing? Very interesting, little scary.

6:16 puts tamper-proof evidence tape around front of computer to seal evidence. 6:21 opens up side of computer to remove hard drive, completely bypassing evidence tape. I would also like to point out the patch on the agent's shoulder at this point in the clip. This is a federal agent who specializes in digital forensics collection making this mistake, If that's any indication of our incident response capabilities, we are in a lot of trouble.

Cyber is just 1 theater. It's an important one, and the US is hurting, but it alone won't hand china the victory.

Hello! First off I love your content!
I was super excited to see you talk about us cyber security. I'm currently in the process of getting my bachelor's in cyber security. I've always enjoyed playing the defensive roll instead of offense.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into making content!

That officer also came out on Twitter shortly after these stories broke and said that wasn't what he said. He claims that he said that if we don't wake up to the threat now, we will lose the fight in 15 years.

I never fought someone and declared them the winner before the fight even began just because they have potential. Strange to do that.

the US government should just simply use NordVPN

We have already lost, but not due to cyber warfare. We lost because China's ship building capacity is leagues beyond our own.

3:02 I like their indoor camoflauge. The green really goes well with that environment.

Great work once again Covert Cabal! I work in this sector and you did a great job breaking this down into Layman's terms while still being accurate and packing in quite a bit in a short video.

Interesting topic for sure, and I agree with you, these 2 countries are so different in their mindset that it's might be complicated for your adversary to put itself in your shoes. Let's just hope this conflict between the US and China will cool down in the future, because I seriously think that if these 2 can get along together, they can achieve great things for mankind.

If we've already lost can we get a Marshall Plan to rebuild our infrastructure?

It's about being clever and thinking strategically.
