My experience with Air Mauritius is that they take great care of their customers, even those from other carriers. I was bumped off an oversold AF flight from SEZ to CDG. AF sent us to MRU and told us an AF rep would rebook us there. No AF rep. Air Mauritius put us up at an "airport hotel" (a luxury resort), and got us to MUC to catch an AF flight to CDG. No help at all from AF. (In fact, they did not believe our story until we showed them the boarding passes.) Glad your experience, while inconvenient, was similar to mine.

Schade, dass du nicht das bekommen hast was du gebucht hast. Das einzige was man da positiv sehen kann ist, dass sie dich immerhin nicht auf einen LCC umgebucht haben. Übrigens, die Lounge ist auch genau die, die Statuskunden und Business Class Gäste von Malaysia Airlines nutzen dürfen. Bin zufälligerweise Ende Februar auf dem gleichen Flug gewesen.

I can understand your feeling when you are rebooked on a different flight and you just wanted to experience some specific flight or airlines. I missed my Ethiopian Airlines flight as we'll three weeks ago just because my previous sector was terribly delayed. And now we can't travel at all due to covid19. Btw, great trip report.

Sad that you didn't went on the A330-900N, looks like you need to book a flight with TAP to the America's to fly in one of those :)
One question, did you ask for any compensation because of the flight delay?

That sucks you couldn’t fly on an A330 NEO for Air Mauritius, but you flew on Malaysia Airlines, a really good airline, glad ya enjoyed us (I hope you did)
