If this guy stops making videos a little part of me will die.

Working on broadcast transmitters was one of my more dangerous jobs. The most difficult work was troubleshooting outages. Usually done at night, during stormy weather, alone and under extreme pressure. The voltages and amperages present were absolutely fatal.

Love your channel!!
As an electrician, the science of what we do has always fascinated me since I was a kid, ripping apart electronics, toys, appliances, etc to get a peek at the magic within..
Now 25+ years on, I work with some really cool HV DC hear for an overhead trolly system in Seattle. Our gear is from the 30’s and 40’s and still works hard daily moving coaches about the city on 70+ miles of wire ways.. 36 substations and their rectifiers all being gone through on a PM schedule..
Love this work!!
Thanks for showing more of the magics contained in other systems!!

Right before I retired my company had two 1, 750 HP Chillers installed that were each feed by a 4, 160 volt VFD drive that I only found the cabinets unlocked once ( before they installed high voltage wires ) but was loaded with a lot of rectifiers. Funny thing the regular service tech that worked on all of their 480 volt chillers was not allowed to work on a chiller that ran off medium voltage. Believe term high voltage does not start until above 20, 000 volts.

We had two rectifiers on the helicopter I used to work on in the Navy. ( MH-53E ) They converted the three phase 120 VAC from the 1, 2 and 3 generators to 28VDC for use on other electronics. Also, if you haven't already, some videos on three phase ( how it works and why we use it ) type stuff would be super cool. I love your channel and I perk up every time I hear "You wanna see something cool?"

This has to be one of the coolest channels to ever grace the algorithm. And that's pretty cool.

The big difference between your content and other youtube’s content is, that I like your videos, before I even start to watch them.

I hear the „want to see something cool?“ and before you finish that sentence, the like button is smashed…

I hope you never stop posting cool stuff!

16.7 Amps at 15, 000 V? Please do show in operation.

We use really large rectifier assembly’s in our locomotives. They rectify the three phase ac current in our AR10 generators. We also use similar assemblies in our AC auxiliary generator systems.

It's actually a 6 phase generator on your car, more phases mean more peak power at any one point in time

This channel is so informative and fun. I’m an electronics hobbyist and the geek group inspired a lot of that. Everytime you upload a video I show it to my coworker who is studying to be an electrician. We both enjoy these videos!

I started watching your videos around two weeks ago, I didn't realize you could make a videos like this. You're truly amazing. I could watch you for hours. Please, keep doing what you do! We love you!

Your content is golden! Thank you for the videos! They teach me - a low voltage guy - something new every day.

When I worked as the Chief Engineer of a shortwave radio station, I remember the night we got struck by lightning and the rectifier stacks blew out. Sounded like tactical nuke going off in the power supply building, and the devastation looked pretty close to the part.

I fixed a very similar one for an x ray machine. It turned out that inverter type microwave rectifiers were a cheap replacement for the obsolete parts. The bigger the glob the better the job. If you know you know.❤
