I honestly was not expecting this kind of sound nor visual concept from her but this is such a nice surprise! This being titled ‘New woman’ and all the symbolisms in the MV really felt inspiring. Last time with ‘Rockstar’, it was her celebrating her roots, her origins but this time this is her embarking on a completely new path, one that she has created for herself and is building it exactly the way she wants it and I love to see that! This new her feels so much more free, so much more curious and excited to explore this creative and artistic side of herself, this time, without being bound to no ideas, rules or concepts. I mentioned the painting ‘The birth of Venus’ and in a sense, I feel like it is quite fitting in this situation, this is almost like a rebirth. And that along with all the other imagery in the MV that kind of led me to thinking about this as a ‘I’m taking back my power back as a woman, things that used to affect me don’t anymore, I’m stronger and better and there’s nothing you can do that will stop me now” and I absolutely love this message. Upon first listening, I have to admit I was unsure of how to feel regarding the song as I was more surprised than anything else but after a few listenings, I actually started enjoying it thankfully! It’s super melodious but also really moody (?) which I really like! Great surprise from Lisa and I can’t wait to see how much more creative she will be the next time she comes back… hopefully soon!!!

So notice how she talks about Aura in the chorus. If we’re talking about mediation and spirituality which Lisa has indicated interest in, Purple and Gold Auras have very distinct meanings. Dark Purple means struggle and pain, while gold is higher purpose, bright energy, and optimism. So in a spiritual sense she’s talking about a spiritual battle she might have also had to overcome.

She’s also using the purple lotus flower that also has a spiritual meaning in Buddhism. It’s can mean looking within and rebirth. So basically she had to look within, shed some of her pain and become enlightened and an awakening.

Also notice how she shaved the purple glitter off of her leg. She’s shedding that energy.

She’s definitely flexing when she hired Dave Myers bc he was the director who created the multi people set that Lisa was criticize for plagiarism.
