Doctor Strange is out! So here's another MCU hero that borders on the magical. Ant-Man! We all thought it would be lame, but it ended up being awesome! Select critics were harsh as usual. This is why they're wrong. Here's everything right with Ant-Man.

I like to add a win for the fact that Cassie's step father truly cared about her and bravely stood up to Yellowjacket to protect her. In a lesser movie he would have been a total coward just to make Scott look better

"are you looking for my daddy?"
"yes, sweetheart."
"hope you don't catch him."

"He's so UGLY!
I LOVE HIM!"

I like the way this child thinks

Just make a montage of just Marvel's "Luis" narrating for two hours. I'd watch that.

"He's so ugly, I love him!" That was off the cuteness scale. We're going to need a bigger scale. She just beat Agnes, and the stuffed unicorn that was "So fluffy I'm gonna die!"

Wait a minute. "One of the best fights inside a briefcase"?

Have there been other good fight scenes inside briefcases that I've missed??

Overlooked Win: Cassie's Dad & Stepdad.
Scott Lang wasn't an absentee dad once he left prison unlike Hank Pym who could have been there for his daughter. Scott tried to re- connect with Cassie, when other ex-cons distance themselves.

Paxton was a loving step-dad to kid, regardless of her snark. Not a typical movie step-parent.

I met Paul Rudd when I went on set of a movie he was in with my dad, a film producer. He was super nice, and a great actor too. He said himself that when he went to quantum level it didn't make sense, because pym particles only shrink the space between the atoms, not the atoms themselves. He was so awesome that he introduced himself to me, because I was way too nervous to introduce myself to him.

"Keep it out of the hands of Stark"

5 to 7 years later

Gives it to freaking Stark...

8:50 truly shows the difference between CinemaWins and CinemaSins. In the sins video, he complained that Scott is basically instructing the ants to drown themselves to make themselves as a raft for him float. CinemaWins actually researched how these fire ants can make an oxygen barrier around themselves. Crazy what a google search can do!

sooo, not gonna mention on how amazing a step dad jim paxton was to cassie? like, he didn’t care that her father is the man he hates, he just wants her to be happy and safe and calls her sweetheart and basically loves her like his own.

I was actually pretty happy that Falcon was the Avenger that showed up in this film because it gave him a chance to get a cool fight scene after missing out on the finale of Age of Ultron. He gets to show off why he’s cool while providing a believable measure of progress to Scott’s training.

“He’s gonna lose the suit”
“He’s gonna lose his life”
Priorities. No win for that?

The line that truly got me was Michael Douglas' " We're doomed!" after Pena gets all excited abt being in the system!

The conflict between Pym and Cross reminds me a lot about Shifu and Tai Lung. They both saw potential in their pupil but they failed to see the darkness in their hearts.

Also, Ant-tony. You'll be missed, buddy. 😢

5:53 Ehhh, not necessarily. I saw it as Hank scared he'd lose Hope like he lost Janet. Heck, that's why he recruited Scott in the first place. Scott said it to Hope: "I'm expendable."
